Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Our approach is built on four principles: Model with Intent to Fabricate, If It Is Modeled It Is Constructable, Kit Everything, and Right Place, Right Time.

At Sargent Electric, our Construction Design Leads, Electrical Construction Planners, and VDC Managers do far more than coordinate models. Their responsibility is to develop executable plans that drive safe, efficient, and predictable field production.

  • Model with intent to fabricate.
  • Build plans the field can execute.
  • Kit everything, deliver right place, right time.
  • Scale without sacrificing quality.

Our internal VDC Managers, Construction Design Leads, and Planning Specialists establish layouts, define modeling standards, manage coordination efforts, perform quality reviews, and ensure alignment with field execution requirements. Model production is supported by a select group of committed modeling partners who operate as an extension of our team.

This approach allows us to rapidly scale resources to match project demand while maintaining consistent standards, quality, and oversight, without carrying excess modeling capacity between projects. Ultimately, our planning and modeling efforts are measured by their impact on the field. Success is not determined by model complexity. Success is determined by whether the field receives accurate layouts, complete work packages, organized material, and a clear path to installation.

We believe planning and modeling should serve the field, not the other way around.
