Prefabrication

At Sargent Electric, prefabrication exists for one purpose: to support the field.

Every assembly, rack, skid, and work package is evaluated through a simple lens: will this make installation safer, faster, more predictable, or more productive?

Field First Fabrication is just that. All fabrication supports the quality craftmanship of the field.

  • Remove labor congestion
  • Improve installation quality
  • Reduce safety exposure
  • Support schedule certainty

Our prefabrication strategy is built around maximizing field productivity. By shifting repetitive tasks, material handling, assembly activities, and high risk work into controlled environments, our field teams spend more time installing and less time searching for material, sorting components, building assemblies, or performing non-productive work.

FIELD FIRST FABRICATION begins long before material enters the shop. Planning, procurement, logistics, and field leadership work together to identify opportunities that remove labor congestion, improve installation quality, reduce safety exposure, and support schedule certainty. Assemblies are developed with installation in mind, packaged into clearly defined work packages, and delivered when and where crews need them.

Our approach includes a wide range of prefabricated solutions including conduit racks, underground duct bank skids, in-wall assemblies, temporary power systems, panel walls, equipment backboards, and kitted installation packages. While the assemblies themselves may vary from project to project, the objective never changes: reduce field variability and support productive installation.

Continuous improvement is a fundamental expectation of our prefabrication program. Feedback flows continuously between craft professionals, field leadership, planning teams, and fabrication personnel throughout project execution. Improvements are implemented in real time rather than waiting for project closeout or lessons learned sessions. If a kit can be organized better, an assembly can be installed faster, or a workflow can be simplified, adjustments are made immediately and applied to future work packages.

The result is a prefabrication program recognized as a continuously evolving field productivity tool.
