IDEXX StallionScarborough, Maine

The IDEXX Horizon Center is a 114,000 SF cGMP manufacturing facility in Scarborough, Maine, designed to support the long-term growth of IDEXX Laboratories, a global leader in veterinary, water, and food diagnostics. Located within the Downs Innovation District, the facility includes R&D laboratories, flexible manufacturing spaces, a high-bay warehouse with integrated cold and freezer storage, 40-foot clear-height ceilings, collaborative offices, and a full-service cafeteria. Designed by CI Design Inc., the scalable infrastructure supports future expansion to meet increasing global diagnostic product demand.

Sargent's scope across the facility included the electrical distribution system for manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments; emergency systems providing backup power for critical production and cold storage loads; fire alarm systems throughout; and TelData systems supporting lab communications, process monitoring networks, and facility-wide data infrastructure.

The project reinforces IDEXX's operational and innovation capabilities while serving as a catalyst for economic development in Southern Maine's emerging life sciences and high-tech manufacturing corridor.
