Substation Modernization
Project Overview
Sargent Electric replaced and upgraded major equipment at AES Indiana's Petersburg Substation as part of AES's transmission and substation reliability program. The work took place in an energized environment with strict outage and operating requirements.
The scope included six 345kV breakers, one 138kV breaker, and numerous 345kV disconnect switches, along with foundations, grounding, conduit, control cable, and control house modifications. Sargent also supported testing, commissioning, and energization.
Crews built the project in phases to limit operational impact and maintain reliable service. The work supports the long-term performance of a critical transmission asset.
