The Verizon Wireless Matrix Program is a large-scale, ongoing telecommunications initiative focused on upgrading network infrastructure across multiple states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Maryland. Sargent Electric has been a key contractor since the program began in 2016, supporting the expansion and enhancement of wireless coverage through a wide range of site upgrades across the region.

Sargent’s work has included upgrades to towers, rooftops, and water tanks, with each project involving site-specific planning, pre-construction assessments, and full system testing to ensure performance and reliability. Across nearly 500 work sites, the scope has encompassed comprehensive electrical and telecommunications installations, including tower erection and foundations, antenna and line installation, grounding, hybrid cable systems, access roads, and site development.

As part of Verizon’s broader national program, completing more than 10,000 upgrades annually, the Matrix Program plays a critical role in improving network capacity, coverage, and reliability, supporting the growing demand for high-speed wireless connectivity across both urban and rural communities.
